2011 Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami

A massive 8.9/9.0 magnitude earthquake hit the Pacific Ocean nearby Northeastern Japan at around 2:46pm on March 11 (JST) causing damage with blackouts, fire and tsunami.

We have been receiving information of many ill and pregnant non Japanese victims of the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami which occurred on March 11 2011, who have evacuated toward the Kansai region. At the Center, Medical Interpreters will be dispatched as support for non Japanese victims. Please contact our office if you wish to receive support. On our website, multilingual news on the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami is also being updated.

2. Depending on location or/and time, we may not be able to dispatch Medical interpreters. Please understand.

3. The Medical interpreters who will be dispatched, are fully trained and qualified interpreters. However, we are not able to take legal responsibility of any disadvantage or loss that may occur through Medical interpretation.

4. The Center of Multicultural Society Kyoto and interpreters will not use personal information gained, for any purposes other than interpretation.
